Salmon and trout

Chile is the world’s second biggest salmon producer, and the world’s biggest trout producer.

Salmon and trout represent 30% of Chile’s total seafood exports.

El 30% del total de alimentos del mar exportados por Chile corresponde a salmón y trucha.

Salmon contains fatty acids that are essential for our health, such as triglycerides, vitamins A, B and D, and minerals, such as selenium, zinc, phosphorus, calcium and iron.

Chilean salmon is closely identified with its point of origin, enabling a direct link to be established with regard to its quality and other attributes, in line with the demands of export markets.

In 2014, salmon and trout exports amounted to US$ 4.4 billion.
