Honey

Chilean honey and other bee products have been studied and found to have valuable properties for human health. This is especially true of products from bees that have taken pollen from a single plant species such as Ulmo and Quillay. They are also foods associated with a healthy lifestyle.

Hives can be found throughout Chile, except in the Magallanes Region. 82% of Chilean honey production is harvested from honey-producing plants in native forests.

In 2014, honey exports totalled US$ 27 million.
