The mussel is a bivalve mollusc that filters its food. It can be found in the intertidal zone at depths of less than 10 metres
The entirely natural cultivation process complies with the strictest Chilean environmental and health standards. It breeds in the cold, clean waters of the South Pacific, in America’s southernmost region and in the cold Humboldt Current flowing up from Antarctica.
Mussels are healthy and nutritious. They are high in protein, omega 3 and vitamins, such as folic acid and vitamin E.
In 2014, mussel exports totalled US$ 189 million.
