Apples flourish in the colder regions of Central and Southern Chile. More than 20 different varieties are grown in these areas. Chile’s apple exports include such varieties as Royal Gala, Braeburn and Fuji, all of which are red-skinned, renowned for their firm pulp and excellent flavour.
In 2014 apple exports totalled US$ 775 million.
