Condensed milk begins as cow’s milk, but water is extracted and sugar added, to produce a thick and sweet product that can be packaged and stored for several years without refrigeration, provided it is not opened.
It is commonly used to prepare desserts and sweet recipes in various parts of the world.
In 2014, condensed milk exports totalled US$ 51 million.
