Giant squid

This white-fleshed mollusc lives off the Chilean coasts between the Arica and Parinacota and the Biobío regions. It is a pelagic species that can be found throughout the water column, depending on the time of day.

In 2014, giant squid exports amounted to US$ 112 million.

Main exports destinations

South Korea, China, Spain, Taiwan and Russia
