The pork sector is one of the most dynamic in the country, and is currently Chile’s biggest meat export.
Chilean pork is recognized worldwide as meeting the strictest market requirements, due to the commitment of the industry and continual work by the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG), to guarantee food health and innocuity.
Exporting companies are vertically integrated, which means they can guarantee the innocuity of their products throughout the productive process.
In 2014, pork exports amounted to US$ 536 million.
Main export destinations
Japan, Russia, South Korea, China and Colombia.
