Select a sector and a product
Chile’s poultry industry has evolved over the past 20 years. Its range of products has expanded, and it has penetrated new global markets by introducing innovation and training, and investing in infrastructure and technology.
The poultry sector has been bold and enterprising and is now among the top ten global exporters, producing healthy, safe and high quality food.
The poultry industry has continually sought to guarantee product innocuity for national and international consumers and increase its competitiveness. This has been achieved using official programmes developed by the Agricultural and Livestock Service, who ensure that products comply with national standards and the specific requirements for each target market. In addition, the industry has developed self-regulation programmes that companies voluntarily implement, covering animal welfare, the environment and corporate social responsibility.
In 2014, poultry exports amounted to US$ 324 million.
