Almonds are rich in proteins, fibre and calcium. They are also an important source of vitamin E.
Almonds are produced from the Coquimbo Region through to the Maule Region, and the largest groves are concentrated in the Metropolitan and O’Higgins Regions.
In 2014, almond exports amounted to US$ 43 million.
